LIFE IN SPAIN

WHY LIVE IN SPAIN?

Life in Spain is good in so many ways. The weather is one aspect, the area east of Granada being the sunniest in Europe. But there is so much more as well……

1) COST OF LIVING.

Rates on rural property rarely add up to £20 per year.

Good meals out with wine etc. can still be had for ₤6.50 per head.

2) WAY OF LIFE

Life is quieter in almost every way. There is no rush hour on the roads. If a journey takes you 40 minutes on a Tuesday morning, it will take you 40 minutes on a Friday night or a Sunday lunchtime.

Roads are generally maintained in first class condition, with a few exceptions.

Even the motorway from Granada up to Alicante is relatively underused, and tailbacks are unheard of.

People are courteous and kind, and show real appreciation when an Englishman tries to speak Spanish (however badly).

Spain has more than it’s fair share of national parks with some boasting wildlife not seen in any other part of Europe.

3) The Spanish are far less strict about reforms to old properties and this means that the cortijo that you are renovating will not end up with a Listed Building notice slapped on it. Oh, and building materials are cheaper in Spain as well!
